To the editors:

I was greatly dismayed by the Hot Type editorial you wrote entitled "Buy American, Burn Asian," May 15. It was a hateful example of the sort of editorial you'd expect to find during World War II. Your characterization of the Japanese as "wily Orientals" and their "sly, relentless, antlike invasion" is truly obnoxious. You actually seem to condone the LA rioters and the way the Koreans were attacked and their stores demolished. Shame on you!
