Bringing Shakespeare to the masses is no small feat. Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s latest touring summer offering, adapted and directed by Dominic Missimi, complicates things further by mashing everything from "To be, or not to be" to "A rose by any other name" into 75 jam-packed minutes. It's a remarkable, relatable success both in spite of and thanks to such ballsy breadth. With some high-energy pop interludes and dance routines, Emma Ladji as lovestruck Juliet and Lillian Castillo as a scorned Hermia in particular work wonders, engaging audience members of all ages. —Marissa Oberlander
