Charles Grippo's farce depicts sexy shenanigans in a U.S. senator's swanky hotel suite just before an election-year family values debate. Protecting his image as leader of the wholesome brigade, Sen. Clooney tries to manage a parade of unwelcome arrivals, including his wife, porn-star girlfriend, cross-dressing son, and Rush Limbaugh-esque nemesis. Before long, nearly everybody's stripped to their underwear and slamming doors. The script needs more ground rules and, though set in the present, projects an outdated sense of what's outrageous (homosexuality, women with libidos). But director Damian Arnold keeps things moving with verve and precision in this New Lincoln Theatre production. And, as a harried campaign aide, Adam Schulmerich maintains an impressive level of panic throughout. --Zac Thompson
