For this featured series Corryn Jackson found some old black and white photographs of what appeared to be US Servicemen. The photographs were in the trash (yes sometimes she looks there for inspiration) in an alley behind the recently closed Nazareth Church of Christ. Corryn studied the photos and saw an innocence portrayed in their faces that stirred a longing to understand each man's story and this was the basis for her series of portraits. With exaggerations of facial features, bright color schemes and an "under the sea" feel , Corryn Jackson brings to life the men in these discarded photographs. In an effort to find out more about the men she featured in her series "Servicemen Found" Corryn Jackson has been heavily involved in research and has contacted the Veterans Affairs Office for information they might have, they have not yet responded.
