This shaggy-vampire tale from New Millennium Theatre Company affectionately sends up Eisenhower-era horror flicks like The House on Haunted Hill and The Tingler, along with the cheeseball gimmicks--floating skeletons, vibrating theater seats--schlock director William Castle used to hype them. (Roger Corman's slapdash filmmaking of the same era also gets a nod.)Writer Paul Czarnowski and director Sean Harklerode prove that it's not enough simply to reproduce the stilted acting, crappy production values, and silly plotting of the originals. Without Tim Burton's skills, vision, and access to top actors, Ed Wood might've dragged like this, too. --Dan Weissmann
