Re: “Heaven on Seven

I hadn't been to Heaven on seven for about two years, about the same time they have left all the bottles on the wall collecting dust, it made a very bad first impression; however, it was pretty disgusting to see one of the waiters cleaning his shoes with a table napking (I hope they have a pretty good cleaning service).

For being 4 pm on a sunday the restaurant had quite a few customers, what was amazing was the poor service, I even had to stand up and go get some water, for none of the six waiters doing nothing (literally) will care to see how was I doing.

I don't think I'll ever come back, this restaurant is on a very steep downhill.

Re: “Royal Thai Restaurant

We love this place, it is not pretencious, it's very clean, and the food is great. We go there at least once or twice a month, is very small, only seven tables, and ther is always room when you get there. Normally we could eat (two people) for under $20. Last time we had one appetizer (chicken Satay), one soup (Kow Soy, a very tasty ramen noodle soup made with coconut milk) and Two entrees (Pad Thai, one of the best I've had in Chicago, and Royal Thai noddles, thick fried noodles with vegetables and tofu). Also ordered tea. The bill was under $30.00

Make sure to check out the fish tank (for decoration only), the owner breeds and changes the fishes every couple of months.

We went there based on the recommendation we saw on the reader, the restaurant is good, nothing fancy, which I don't mind. I ordered minestrone soup and it was a little overcooked, not warm enough and salty (but had I gotten it 1 hour earlier probably would have been delicious)

The wait staff was friendly, and helpful.

We ordered the specials, swordfish on a bed of spinach with roasted peppers and onions, and rotolo (tomato and spinach pasta stuffed with ricota and spinach in a creamy red pepper sauce) .

The fish was good, albeit cold (this was a real disappointment), and the peppers and onions were floating in oil (it didn't taste like olive oil, which I woudn't minded). The rotolo was good, and the red pepper sauce was very good.

There's a liquor store across the street, that's helpful when the place is byob.

I wouldn't go back.
