A 1998 video feature about a young Korean-American man (Paul Lim) who proposes to his black girlfriend (Victavia T. Howard), setting off heated debate among both their families. Director Vici Howard-Prayitno, an alumnus of Columbia College, fails to make the topical predicament work as drama; she seems to have plunked the camera in front of the actors and hoped for the best, squandering both the Chicago locations and the notion of Asian kids as typical slackers. Lim and Howard have winsome Kodak moments in this otherwise inept lesson in racial tolerance. Two shorts on biracial kids round out the program: Angela Leonino's Half/half and Mark Arbitrario's Romance Cafe a la Hapa.
