Re: “Mount Everest

The lunch buffet was very good, with a large varity of choices. The service leaves something to be desired - I wasn't asked if I wanted anything to drink besides water. This was my first visit and though I felt a little confused at first (I wasn't sure if there was a menu besides the buffet and it wasn't made clear to me at all until I saw other people walk in, drop off their things at a table and walk to the buffet), I will definitely go back in a couple weeks. A great place for Indian food if you don't have the time to go to Devon for lunch.

Re: “Al's Deli

I love Al's deli and it is my favorite lunch place up in Evanston. The soup and sandwich combos are the way to go - but make sure to go early, when I went today they were already sold out of soup and chili. It's also located across the street from a park and the cultural center - perfect for summer lunches!

Re: “Gioco

My sister and I brought my parents to Gioco to try out their new brunch menu. It was AMAZING. My mom and I both got the eggs benedict which had the best hollandaise sauce that I think I have ever tasted. Our server was outstanding and everyone kept raving about their food. I DEFINITELY will be coming back for brunch sometime soon!

Re: “Swim Cafe

They still seem to be working out a lot of glitches. It almost seems like there are too many people trying to do the same job and people kept tripping over themselves. We were at first overcharged for one of our entrees (which they noticed and returned the difference) and then they forgot one of the entrees when they brought our food. It seems like it will be a very cool place once they work everything out. Overall, I'd go back, but probably just by myself for either a quick bite or just some coffee or tea and a sweet dessert. They also gave us all a free shortbread for dessert as we were leaving. It's definitely a good place for the neighborhood!!!! I hope they succeed!

Re: “Dragonfly Mandarin

The food was great! I strongly suggest the orange peel beef and ask for some chilis. It was seriously a party in my mouth...in a good way!!! The desserts were rather pale by comparison - I expected much more from the creme brule cheesecake, but it was still very very good. This was my first time visiting Dragonfly and I plan on returning, hopefully with friends from out of town.
