Revolution on Film: Black Panthers in Their Own Words

When: Fri., July 19 2013
Screening in conjunction with the three-part AfriCOBRA exhibition, Revolution on Film: Black Panthers in Their Own Words is a collection of short documentaries and interviews that focus on the Black Panther Party of the 60s and 70s. Notable segments include an interview with Fred Hampton, the deputy chairman of the Illinois chapter, just over a month before he was killed and a 1969 promo film in which the Panthers explain their cause (in, you guessed it, their own words).
