Joel Sinensky's play starts out as an agreeable comedy about a group of twentysomethings suffering the postcollegiate blues. The central character, a former folklore mythology major named Jeremy, wants to focus on finishing his novel. But he needs money and he's tired of depending on his wealthy parents (talk about your first-world problems). So he decides to start selling cocaine, a career move whose many risks he blithely disregards. In the second act, things unravel for Jeremy—and for the playwright, who seems to develop a disdain for his characters, subjecting them to violence, degradation, and farce. The young cast of this Buzz22 Chicago production are in a perpetual tizz. Once you get past the casual opening scenes, someone is nearly always shouting. —Zac Thompson
