Reparations Now: The Chicago Fight for Police Torture Reparations Agenda Closing (Theater and Galleries) Free Recommended

When: Fri., Aug. 14 2015
The fourth installment in the gallery's five-part 40 Acres and a Mule: A Series of Visual Art Shows and Discussions about Reparations for Slavery focuses on the home front: specifically, recent successful efforts by activists who persuaded the city to compensate survivors of Chicago police torture. Expect to see artists' contributions to that effort, like fliers, T-shirts, and flags. URI-Eichen is showing 40 Acres and Mule, a visual show and discussion series about reparations of slavery in the corporate world of Chicago. The gallery opens at 6 PM and a panel with the artists, including Holly Abney, Tw Li, and Lucky Pierre, will be at 7 PM.
