The former Red Tomato is now featuring a contemporary American menu in place of Italian cuisine.

Our Review

One of the pioneers of the Southport restaurant strip, this is a better-than-average neighborhood place with exposed brick walls and wooden rafters that evoke the feel of an Italian wine cellar. Parking can be a pain, but the many fans don’t seem to mind; some take the el, which stops steps away from the door. The former Red Tomato was known for its fresh pasta, but with a name change the owner has also switched to contemporary American cuisine with an extensive martini menu and wine list.
