Horror maestro Wes Craven tries his hand at a straight thriller, and though the results are somewhat mixed, he certainly knows how to build and release tension. Rachel McAdams stars as a hotel manager on her way home to Miami; when her flight is delayed, she has a drink with a man who later winds up sitting next to her on the plane. The balance of the story hinges on this coincidence, but the movie never explains how this guy—a terrorist who's holding her father hostage—would be able to rig it. Still, if you're willing to suspend disbelief, this is a pretty good ride. With Cillian Murphy and Brian Cox. PG-13, 85 min.
