Re: “Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!

This was my first time at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! with a group of 4 total - it was a great number, and we were all pleasantly full by the end - 1 pitcher of sangria was plenty! Table favorites were the bacon wrapped dates, the roasted eggplant salad and the coconut cake! The place was packed, but service was attentive.

Re: “Feast Restaurant + Bar

This is always a good neighborhood choice. I had the mussels and the beet salad this time. The mussels were wonderful - my favorite in the city. They're large and tender, and always seasoned perfectly. I was a bit disappointed with the beet and orange salad with panko crusted goat cheese. The salad tasted as if it had been sprinkled with salt after it had been dressed - very distracting. I was also hoping for more beets and orange sections and less filler greens. But overall, a good meal out when you're with friends.

Re: “Club Lucky

A good neighborhood place - nothing remarkable, good food. We went late night on a Monday, so I can't speak to crowds. The waitsaff was very friendly, and I can see Club Lucky being a good walking distance dinner choice from now on.

A beautiful birthday meal - not a romantic place because of it's stark nature, but every aspect of the meal was lovely. the endive salad was superb, as was the sturgeon. Our only complaint? That the chairs were uncomfortable.

Re: “Jin Ju

Expensive!!! My asian pear cocktail was very good - not too sweet, but the portions were too small to justify the $11-$18 per entree. The beef in my dish had tough fatty bits I had to spit out, but was flavored beautiful. The kim chee was really good, as were the small sides provided. Note - sides for 2 were presented all together on one plate - fine for me and my husband, but *assuming* we would want to share a plate seems presumptious. I might go back in a few months to see if the menu has evolved, but I feel like I can find better Korean for less, and can get better atmosphere for that price.
