My profile last week of Debra Shore misstated a point in the debate among commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District on purifying Chicago River effluent. The alternative to chlorine is ultraviolet radiation, not infrared, and Shore has made it clear she favors ultraviolet. The error was mine.
