Re: “Ritz-Carlton Cafe

The server was the worst server I've ever had. She was cold and aloof the entire time- never asking us how are meal was, never refilling coffee, etc. After asking for twice, and not receiving the dessert menu, we were told that the "We usually don't give the dessert menu to those who we don't think will order anything." When we noticed on the bill a charge for an appetizer we did not order, we were "corrected" by the server, who told us that WE were in error. After a couple of minutes of back-and-forth, the bill was eventually corrected. My guest (who was staying at the hotel), and I left confused at what we had just encountered, and headed to the front desk to speak with the manager. We complained, he listened- nothing was done to make us ever want to return. This is the first time I can honestly say I've been made to feel very unwelcome in a restaurant, as if I was a minority at a white lunch counter fifty years ago. My guest and I are both well-dressed, well-mannered professionals who were nothing but courteous to the server, and were really taken aback by the experience- it totally ruined our night. The only thing my guest and I could hypothesise as to why we were treated the way we were is our age, early twenties, a little younger than the server. An experience like this shouldn't happen at McDonald's, much less the Ritz-Carlton.

Re: “Basil Leaf Cafe

Extremely friendly and generous staff, great food, great prices, perfect at doing what it does. A great place that doen't seem to get any buzz.
