Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott created this 2006 musical, based on Elliott's 1994 film about two drag queens and a transgender woman who set off on a trip to perform a show at a resort in the remote Australian town of Alice Springs. The score features pop hits such as "I've Never Been to Me" and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." L. Walter Stearns directs for Mercury Theater Chicago, with music direction by Eugene Dizon and choreography by Breon Arzell. The cast includes longtime Chicago favorite Honey West as Bernadette.
