Power Consumption Causes Cancer 

To the editors:

In the article "The Misuse of Power" (Reader, Dec. 1) Florence Levinsohn suggests many ways in which increased power consumption can pollute the environment, but she neglected to mention electromagnetic radiation (EMR) which is compellingly linked to the development of cancer and other immune system breakdowns.

While acid rain and nuclear waste can be reduced by electric power conservation, so too can low level EMR.
