Post-Communist Romania: An American Perspective Member Picks

When: Fri, March 19th, 6:30pm Drinks and Hors d'oeuvres with Alan Elsner, 7:00pm Book Presentation, 7:30pm Q&A & Casual Networking Contact: Price: Free Admission, Autographed Book: $15 Romanian Cultural Exchange (ROCX), a Romanian-American cultural and educational exchange non-profit, will host the book launch of Alan Elsner's "Romance Language" (Portals Press 2009). Elsner is a distinguished journalist with 30-years experience as a Thomson-Reuters correspondent. "Romance Language" is a part love story, part historical drama, part coming-of-age novel set in modern-day Romania, with flashes back to 1989 when the country struggled under its communist regime. Other books in Elsner's portfolio: Gates of Injustice: The Crisis in America's Prisons (Prentice Hall, 2004), Guarded by Angels: How My Father and Uncle Survived Hitler and Cheated Stalin (Yad Vashen 2005) The Nazi Hunter (Arcade, 2006) The event will also host a Photo Exhibition by Jennifer Okray.
