Pokemon 3

After an archaeologist unwittingly resurrects the “legendary Pokemon,” the ancient race of beings turns him into a weird lion creature and changes all greenery into a crystalline substance, leaving only Pikachu and his gang to rescue planet earth from its spell. The latest big-screen version of the popular video game and TV series, this Japanese animated feature borrows liberally from Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke. Some of the action might overwhelm small children, but if your kids are fans there's probably no escaping this installment. Preceded by the short Pikachu and Pichu. Michael Haigney directed. 95 min.
