Re: “John Wick: Chapter 2

VERY HIGH BODY COUNT, VERY LITTLE HUMOR OR PLOT, PLENTY OF "ACTION" LOTS OF GUN-PORN, AND DESPITE THE POSTER IMAGE - THE DOG'S NOT INVOLVED AT ALL.

Re: “Tuesdays on the Terrace

much improved seating and music placement. sometimes good food. free museum admission. a chance to dress up and blend in with the rich folks -- it would be nice if the "Reader" would list the acts.... and identify the performer in the photo - it's not MCA....

Re: “Rosenwald

Here's another thoroughly researched piece of history from a director with a knack for bringing arcane subjects almost nobody knows to life: The Jewish rags to riches merchant who took over Sears started schools for African - American kids all across the south, pioneered a model of philanthropy which engaged local communities and businesses and empowered parents and students. He went on to support Black artists and writers who were the leading lights of their generation. Full of great old photos and moving testimonials.

Re: “The Counselor

Slick looking, star studded, beautifully shot, but finally an empty snuff flick with not one sympathetic character. If it's a metaphor for our object-filled, value-less existence, then we're in deep shit - which of course, we are. Skip it.

Re: “Argo

It's a well made and very enjoyable suspense, which also reminds Americans "why they hate us" : because we imposed a brutal dictator on Iran when their moderate and democratically elected government tried to control their own resources. Affleck's work as actor and director is praiseworthy - Jones review IS lazy and sells short the film's many virtues.
