Dear Reader,

This letter is in response to Charles Pike's ridiculous complaint regarding his review [May 19].

Does it surprise Mr. Pike that his work will be reviewed, perhaps even unfavorably? I want to thank Albert Williams for waking Charles Pike up to reality.

I especially want to take issue with Mr. Pike's inferences that his script should be deemed of artistic merit just because it "was labored over and carefully constructed over a period of a year" and because he "received nothing" for writing it. This is ridiculous.

I haven't seen Mr. Pike's work. The review didn't dissuade me nearly as much as his whining letter. I wish Charles Pike luck in finding an occupation in which he can avoid criticism and truth. Art is not it.

Tim Lotesto

(so angry that I wrote this on the nearest paper towel)
