Steve Martin's 1993 play, his first, is essentially a series of unrelated comic monologues filled with one-liners and nonsensical rants. It's 1904, and those wacky geniuses Einstein and Picasso meet by chance in a Parisian bar populated by sex-obsessed women and a time-traveling celebrity, among others. Despite the story's fictional "meeting of the minds," its intellectual content is almost nil. And the corny jokes are positively vaudevillian--I kept waiting for rim shots. Under Steven Walanka's direction, the Saint Sebastian Players are occasionally titter-worthy. Renae Stone and Rob Grabowski do well as bar denizens, and Nate Negron is fun as the visiting celeb. But the comedy needs more help than this company gives it. --Laura Molzahn
