April 23, 5 PM, 1300 block of West Belmont. Burglary. Man went out for bike ride and returned home to find door and window open and camera missing. Two hours later, burglar returned with camera and apologized for stealing it. Man still pressed charges.

April 25, 1:20 PM, 3900 block of North Lake Shore Drive. Robbery. Car pulled up to flower vendor at freeway exit. Man stuck head out window and said he wanted to buy a rose. He then exited car, knocked vendor to ground, grabbed bunch of flowers, and drove away.

April 30, 3:30 PM, 5200 block of North Clark. Assault. Man playing trumpet outside travel agency was asked to stop by business owner. Man refused and spritzed owner with pepper spray. Police arrested man on street a short time later.

May 6, 8:20 PM, 5500 block of South Lake Park. Battery. Police arrested man for throwing rocks at car windows. Man confessed that earlier he'd stepped in front of CTA bus and thrown brick at windshield, causing it to shatter. Man claimed he was upset after having a "bad day" and said he was provoked to attack bus because of previous bad experience with Metra employee who had hit his arm.
