Petty Crime 

March 23, 4:05 AM, 2300 block of W. Irving Park. Burglary. Police responding to call of broken window at realty office arrived to see man going through desk. Man told police he'd been waiting for a bus when he saw three men break office window and run. Police found two gold rings in man's pocket. "I was just looking around for stuff," he said.

March 27, 4:36 PM, 1500 block of E. 57th Street. Robbery. Woman and man walked into bank. Woman approached teller with slip of paper reading, "I have a gun, give me the money." She walked out with $1,700, followed by man. Two days later, police spotted man on street and recognized him from video surveillance tape. Man told police that woman was his aunt and that he had been at bank with her by coincidence. Woman was arrested and charged. Nephew was not.

March 30, 4:15 PM, 6600 block of S. Artesian. Vehicle theft. Two ten-year-olds broke into garage and stole 1984 Chevy Caprice. One steered while other pressed gas pedal. They hit side of garage with car. Later they ran into light pole in front of police station. They got out of car and ran, but were rounded up and turned over to youth division.

April 4, 5:30 PM, 900 block of W. Wilson. Public indecency. Neighbors spotted man wearing dress and woman's blouse in apartment hallway. Man was fondling himself and exposing himself to two small children. Police took man to Ravenswood Hospital for evaluation after he told them he was part of ongoing Northwestern University psychiatric study.
