November 23, 1:30 AM, 4600 Block of North Clark. Aggravated battery. Man was listed in stable condition after argument with another man outside tavern, where one man pulled knife, stabbed victim six times, and fled. Police arrived to find victim lying in gutter and tavern employee mopping blood off sidewalk.

December 5, 6 AM, 800 Block of West Hutchinson. Robbery. Woman was walking to car when knife-wielding man jumped out of gray Chevrolet and threatened to kill her if she didn't get in her car. He ordered her to sit in passenger seat, realized he couldn't drive a stick shift, and told her to take wheel. Instead, she jumped out and ran home, leaving behind purse containing $20, which man took with him when he fled.

December 6, 2:30 PM, 900 Block of West Lawrence. Burglary. Woman broke into apartment and stole 23-inch color TV, leaving behind purse containing a bottle of prescription medicine with her name and address on label.

December 6, 11:30 PM, 4000 Block of North Clarendon. Robbery. Man wishing to buy used car was picked up at his apartment by three acquaintances who said a friend of theirs had one to sell him. Once inside car, one man pulled gun while another held victim and told him to hand over the $4,000 he'd brought along. He did, and fled car at stoplight.
