September 5, 1 PM, Harlem-Irving Plaza. Attempted shoplifting at Kohl's department store. Four women placed their babies in shopping carts on top of sneakers, jeans, and $150 worth of assorted clothes. The women were stopped trying to exit store.

September 14th, between 3 and 6 PM, 5300 block of South Kimbark. Apartment burglarized and items taken, including a phone pager. Victim subsequently beeped the pager and when suspect answered, police went and arrested him.

September 26th, 2:50 PM, 1000 block of E. 53rd St. Man attempting to rob dry cleaning store was startled when store manager pressed security buzzer. Suspect said he was "just kidding" and fled.

September 26th, 5:30 PM, 1500 block of E. 53rd St. Same man attempting to rob General Nutrition Center was startled when female employee began praying aloud. Suspect said, "OK, you win," and fled.

September 26th, 6:30 PM, 1400 block of E. 53rd St. Same man finally succeeded in robbing Baskin-Robbins of $200 in cash and fled.
