Lettuce Entertain You's version of a supper club, located in the Goodman Theatre building.

Our Review

This retro supper club belongs to Lettuce Entertain You's seemingly inexhaustible stream of theme restaurants. Its location on the main floor of the Goodman Theatre building is intended to bring in a steady flow of formally dressed theatergoers, who should fit right in with the lush surroundings: red velvet booths, walls of celebrity photos, tuxedo-clad servers, and Sinatra on the sound system. The menu is old-fashioned as well: there's a red snapper soup drizzled with sherry (reminiscent of Bookbinder chowder), shrimp de jonghe, a slew of steak options including steak Diane and filet mignon, and sides like twice-baked potatoes, steamed broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, and creamed spinach. Raters find it all uninspiring: "If they're trying to emulate the mediocre theater-district restaurants in midtown Manhattan," says one, "they're right on the money."
