I just tried an almost identical recipe but put the infused bourbon in the fridge after 6 hours on the counter. Left in for a week. No rancid flavor but not really bacon-y either. Mostly like drinking bad bourbon and chasing it down with bacon grease. 2 votes on NO.

I did think of doing Ambers way and just putting strips of bacon in. At least you could eat the back after. :)
