It's Chicago, dude. Catholic schools, at least back in the day, weren't private school caliber. Our parents sent us there under pain of going to hell. Our teachers were nuns who, in so many cases, had two years of college. We didn't get a better education than "the publics"--just more religion, no science. Where did you grow up?As a south side kid, all these years later I still remember the days we had off for saints et al. Your thesis is flawed.
