Actor John Turturro follows his charming and colorful travel documentary Rehearsal for a Sicilian Tragedy (2009) with this assured and freewheeling look at the music of Naples (2010). The breadth of Neapolitan song is captured through a variety of formats: archival footage of classic singers (Sergio Bruni, Angela Luce, Massimo Ranieri), staged performances by contemporary artists (Pietra Montecorvino, Peppe Barra, Rosiario Fiorello), and lively impromptu numbers by people on the street. In English and subtitled Italian.
