On December 15, 2000, you ran a short but beautiful story entitled "Silent Knight." The story featured my surgery and the satire about the nightmare of Dorothy Tillman, Mayor Daley, and Caroline Shoenberger, hypothetically in the operating room trading places with my doctors to perform surgery on me. I refer to them as the "evil trilogy."

I would be remiss not to mention or give credence to my real doctors, Dr. Kutler, Dr. Chandra, and Dr. Sarah Vakkalanka, aka Dr. Beautiful, with a personality to match. These wonderful doctors removed a goiter out of my throat the size of a football, and helped to restore my career academy voice. Also they completely chased cancer away! I refer to them as the Holy Trinity or Stroger's Angels!

Also, I would like to give honorable mention to Mrs. Daniels, who made my stay at Cook County Hospital comparable to the Chicago Hilton and Towers. Mrs. Daniels is a very capable and competent administrator. If ever there was such a thing, she would be considered a Mother Angel, or my guardian angel. She has been at Cook County Hospital so long, she may have laid a few bricks on the foundation to help build the hospital. Mrs. Daniels has been at Cook County Hospital for over 35 years and is truly a credit to the hospital.

Last but not least, I would like to give thanks to the nurses, and even the clerical people for a very fine job.

Sincerely,
