To the editors:

Victoria Berlin is so right in her letter ("Pet Pancakes" 7/21/89) regarding dead canines & felines [Our Town July 7] and (in fact, regarding) all of the animals we share this earth with.

I'll add, "What a giant step it will be for mankind when the pros and the cons in the Episcopalian debate shift their attention to the passage in the Doxology "Praise God all creatures here below."

Who are we to call upon all creatures to do so (the prairie chicken, for instance) and how fortunate we are that Christ gave us all blanket coverage with, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

With nearly 2000 Easters behind us I ask you, "Will we ever know?"
