Re: “Old-School Italian

I very much enjoyed and agree with your review of the Bacchanalia Ristorante’ a “hidden gem” located in the 2400 block of South Oakley. As a recent transplant to the Community, I have thoroughly enjoyed every entree’ I have sampled. The veteran staff includes Head Chef Luigi Amaya (Romero) 23 years of service, Maria Genchi 28 years, and the owners’ Mom Noemi Pieri who still makes the Homemade Meat Ravioli. Mom still lives around the corner and one of the owners lives above the restaurant. All entrees are prepared to order. An evening at Bacchanalia is like being invited to one’s Home for a traditional Italian Feast.

The Bacchanalia is a great a destination for City residents or for visitors looking for authentic Italian dining in a Chicago neighborhood made famous by its restaurants.
