NPR Is Tax-Happy

To the editors:

There is one more reason to hate the NPR; they give liberals a bad name. The NPR makes it far easier for morons like Rush Limbaugh and Dan Quayle to discredit liberals and try to turn the "L" word into a political swearword.

A perfect illustration of what's wrong with the NPR is on the issue of taxes. Raising federal revenue moderately is necessary to help pay for vital social programs and to help solve the deficit problem. But the NPR almost justifies class warfare via income taxes. This makes it all the easier for Bob Dole and his ilk in Congress to mindlessly bleat over and over about "tax and spend policies." Too bad that the NPR doesn't realize that a little moderation would go a long way towards making them more believable and a better source of news.
