Mr. Rosenbaum:

You listed the Washington, D.C., Area Film Critics Association as having joined the parade of critics' groups to anoint Sideways as the best film of 2004. We chose Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which you listed as among those superior to the consensus choice.

Personally, I leaned more toward Million Dollar Baby (here a 2005 release), The Aviator, or the criminally underappreciated The Door in the Floor, but I could certainly endorse and embrace Eternal Sunshine.
