This multidisciplinary performing arts festival, hosted by the Pilsen area's Blue Rider Theatre, runs through December 17, with shows most Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 7 PM, as well as children's matinees on selected Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM. Most evenings feature two or more artists, with intermissions between each act. Blue Rider Theatre, 1822 S. Halsted, 733-4668. Tickets: $10 a night except where noted in the listings below; $60 for a festival pass (good for all performances).

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6

The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci and Little Miss Understandings of Small Importance

The first half of this double bill is Pablo Helguera's performance piece exploring "how we learn, remember, and understand reality" using film, opera, and props; the second work, by Douglas Grew, focuses on the comic side of tragic moments. 8 PM.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7

Whussbert of Manurebrick Farm

and Under the Influence

The first piece is an adult puppet show by John Spear, Phil Meyer, and Jimmy Townsley; the second is performance poet Marc Smith's piece about "the journey that led him to national acclaim as the creator of slam poetry." 8 PM.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8

Aspects/Implications: Encouragements Toward Change

and Healing Whole

The first piece is actress Catherine Slade's one-woman show; the second is a selection of poetry by Angela Shannon Preston and Rohan Preston. 7 PM.
