Continued from last week:

To recap, I'm 18, naked and aroused, standing over my snoring female companion here in the middle of the night, when about 15 kids step out of the fog. There's this very uncomfortable silence, some laughter, and then the kids sit down and start talking to each other, ignoring me. I grab my clothes and get myself together but my companion's still out of it. I'm just sitting there, bored, so I start hanging out with these kids and soon we're laughing. Then I hung out with this group of black people. About 3 AM all these gay couples start showing up. She's asleep this whole time, and I resigned myself to crashing there for the night. I did see an amazing sunrise--a weird mix of blue, pinks, and purples. This gay guy next to me says, "Oh my God, I'm going to paint my kitchen these colors," and suddenly she got up, incredibly startled. She put her head on my shoulder and fell back asleep in my arms. It was this sweet, romantic, golden moment. All of a sudden I get this sharp pain in my ankle and these biting flies are descending on us and we're kicking and brushing and we jump up, realizing that we have to get away from the flies. We walked to the inner drive, kissed, and she asked to meet me at the bar that night and I said sure but I was pretty sure I wouldn't. How could you top an amazing night like that?
