Learn first hand about Mexico's violent drug war and the resulting human rights violations when Juárez activist Cipriana Jurado speaks at a community forum hosted by Wicker Park Lutheran Church. Cipriana has investigated human rights violations committed by Mexico's Army, deployed to reduce the flow of drugs into the USA. Because of this work, Cipriana received death threats and one of her colleagues was killed. Amnesty International asked the international community to protect Cipriana and other human rights defenders in Juárez. She came to Chicago seeking temporary refuge.
