George Bernard Shaw's once-banned 1893 play still packs a punch. Not because of its story--an otherwise respectable woman has made her fortune in the sex industry--but because Shaw's critique of hypocrisy remains astute and relevant and because his characters are so finely drawn. Couple this with David Darlow's clean direction and pitch-perfect casting for the Remy Bumppo Theatre Company and you get a production that crackles with Shavian wit. Donald Brearley and Kevin Gudahl deliver the verbal pyrotechnics with great skill, but the play belongs to Annabel Armour, exceptional as the elegant, socially adept title character. --Jack Helbig a Through 4/22: Wed-Sat 7:30 PM, Sun 2:30 PM, Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N.
