Clowning can be charming, as veteran Bristol Renaissance Faire entertainers Philip Earl Johnson (doofus Moonie) and Brian Howard (acerbic Broon) prove here. Working separately and together, they offer a potpourri of circus specialties and vintage vaudeville and busker routines--the obvious result of having too much free time and even more imagination. The stunts include juggling, eating fire, warbling impromptu ballads, escaping from a straitjacket, and the ever-popular having a concrete block broken on your stomach as you lie on a bed of nails. An audience volunteer got to prove himself a good sport when the jugglers threw their pins at him to knock a Ping-Pong ball off a nipple clamp attached to the lucky guest. The one flaw the night I attended was excessive ad-libbing and byplay in the second act, which slowed it down. Through 3/13: Thu 8 PM, Fri 9 PM, Sat 6 PM, Sun 2:30 PM. No show Thu 2/10 and 2/17. Bailiwick Repertory, Bailiwick Arts Center, 1229 W. Belmont, 773-883-1090. $12-$23.
