Dear Editor,

Your August 5 article ["Building Boom"] failed to reveal the true depths of disgust that we architects in Chicago feel for that building in the corner of Grant Park which has its top so awkwardly sliced off.

If the building were elsewhere it would simply be another unremarkable building. Stylistically, it has no mother and no father. We hope it will have no children.

But the prominent location makes the building impossible to ignore. It is like drawing attention to oneself by pulling down your pants for a family photographic portrait. It is simply not appropriate.
