Wtf? Malcolm X was an outright failure? Are you on drugs? Maybe you didn't like the movie, but it was clearly one of the best biopics in the 90s. Clockers was a masterpiece and a precursor to the "The Wire," not just an 'intriguing effort.' Summer of Sam was quite good (but not amazing) and Miracle at Saint Anna was okay and surely wasn't a failure. Red Hook Summer was a bit disappointing, but your analysis of Spike Lee films are horrendous. Which movie other than Red Hook Summer did Spike Lee cover religion extensively?? How do the statements muddle the narrative? Each time the story mentioned race and religion it was to paint the picture of the setting and build character development.
