I have been to Shine/Morida for carryout, and have always been impressed with the food, though I have never eaten in the restaurant. I am a big fan of Asian food, and Shine/Morida suits me and my wife very well - she is a Chinese food fan, while I enjoy Japanese food - this place is great for us.

As for our first experience dining in at Shine/Morida, I was quite impressed with the atmosphere and the food. The layout of the restaurant is very clean, and while the lighting is dimmed, it has been designed as to still allow for the menus to be read.

More importantly, the food was very good. The california rolls were excellent - the crab meat was very fresh, flaked crab meat (not pressed or the imitation meat!). I had sushi the night before, therefore I did not have any additional rolls or nigiri, though it is worth a second visit to try it out.

Our two entrees were good as well. The sesame chicken was especially good. The breaded pieces of chicken were very tender - not overcooked - and very lean, while the sauce was not too strong or salty. The cashew chicken was not as good - as the sauce had a bit too much soy (salt) in it - though the dish lived up to its name with plenty of cashews. While the dish was mainly chicken, it did feature a good amount of veggies as well - carrots, celery and zucchini - cooked very well (often, stir fry veggies are at the extremes - very raw or overcooked and soggy).

The proportions were ample and served family-style - perfect for sharing dishes.
