McCoy Brothers Gravestone Benefit

When: Sun., Oct. 3, 7 p.m. 2010
Phone: 773-728-6000
Price: $16-20
Learn about two Chicago blues pioneers and help raise money for their gravestones! Brothers "Kansas" Joe and "Papa" Charlie McCoy played string band, country blues, jug band and swing music from the 1920's to the 1940's and helped lay the groundwork for early rock and roll, but they are largely forgotten today. This concert, featuring the Second Fiddles, Sule Greg Wilson (percussionist with the Carolina Chocolate Drops), Rick Sherry (singer and harmonica player with the Sanctified Grumblers), the Barehand Jugband and others will present a good-time tour through the McCoys' varied repertoire.
