Re: “Requiem for a Running Back

This film is the most loving tribute a daughter could ever give her father. I love this movie, and every time I see it again, it unfolds more deep rooted emotions I cannot articulate properly to anyone.
Like Rebeccas Dad, Lew Carpenter, my Dad also suffers with CTE from playing football in the NFL. This movie is a gift for us all, and I thank Rebecca for her courage, vulnerability, and love in sharing her personal story.
This film is raw, but gentle. This film is heartbreaking, yet hopeful. There is a great amount of awareness of the scientific truth of CTE, which is wonderful for so many retired players dying of this horrible disease.
EVERYONE needs to see this! Rebecca is simply an artistic genius with a huge heart for advocacy, and a true love for her father.

Re: “Requiem for a Running Back

Rebeccas movie is a beautiful tribute to her father, Lew Carpenter. As a daughter of a former NFL player suffering from CTE, this film affected me in so many ways. Every time I see it again, it unfolds more emotions than the time before.
It is raw, yet so gentle. It is heartbreaking, yet so educational about this disease that has taken and continues to take the lives of so many former football players.
I hope EVERYONE sees this! Rebecca is simply an artistic genius, and the love for her father and her advocacy shine in this movie.
