The snow is melting, which means it's time to make Lollapalooza predictions! This wolf thinks Drake and ASAP Rocky are locks—hat tip to Fake Shore Drive mastermind Andrew Barber, who posted that to Twitter and ought to know. Reunited Armenian-American metal band System of a Down could show, as could rapper Action Bronson, indie-pop singer Florence and whoever's in the Machine now, and Mark Kozelek favorites the War on Drugs. Potential locals on the bill: Save Money group Leather Corduroys, rapper Mick Jenkins, and garage wunderkinds Twin Peaks.

Apocalyptic extreme-metal group Lord Mantis has split down the middle but survived: founding drummer Bill Bumgardner and lead guitarist Andrew Markuszewski are joined by Will Lindsay and Dylan O'Toole, bandmates with Bumgardner in recently defunct doom band Indian; also new is guitarist Scott Shellhamer of American Heritage. Lindsay will play bass, and O'Toole will cover lead vocals—right now he's writing lyrics for a Lord Mantis EP to be recorded this spring. Departing the band are front man and bassist Charlie Fell and guitarist Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams); they've started an intimidating-sounding project called Missing with Jef Whitehead (Leviathan), Sanford Parker (Corrections House), Fade Kainer (Batillus), and Sorceron's Abigail Williams bandmate Jeff Wilson (Chrome Waves, Wolvhammer).

On Fri 3/13, locals Buckingham Palace SVU will play their third-ever show at Humboldt Park bar Archie's with Nones and DJ Todd Novak from HoZac. Even if it weren't free, Gossip Wolf would go—we've toured Buckingham Palace SVU's Soundcloud, and their sloppy cow-punk would murder Prince Charles's ears! The four-piece features bassist Arman Mabry (Rabid Rabbit), guitarist Casey Harris (Sharing Mass Graves), drummer Jake Acosta (Famous Laughs), and vocalist Kevin Spain (Dead Letter).
