Re: “The New York Times Blows It Again

Eh, Revolution does have 16 of their own beers on tap today, but that's one-day-only as it's their anniversary. Usually they do have a selection of about 10 of their own beers, some year-round, some seasonal, plus a few guest taps. What was written is not misleading. And so Owen and Engine is one month older than NYT gave them credit for... and Longman & Eagle opened their hotel rooms six weeks ago (so, again, "are opening" isn't a horrible gaffe). Presumably NYT/CNC had this story in the works and let it sleep. Except the chef thing, the infois fairly accurate.

Re: “A Clarification Regarding the Word "Funk"

Heh, yeah, generally agreed, but FGFM has a very, very good point. I'd wager, though, that change the spelling to "Phunk" and your rule would be universally true.

Re: “It's Time to Make a Clean Break With Ronny's

Generally agreed... the place was a novelty for how *actually shitty* it was, beyond normal dive-bar standards. It was fun once in a while though, when a band you knew was playing. In its defense, it had been fixed up a bunch in recent months (at least the performance space). I talked to Ronny (?) about six months ago and complimented him on the improvements, and he said proudly something like "You haven't seen nothing yet." I got the impression he enjoyed having flocks of people coming in the doors. What bar owner wouldn't? The Bonnie "Prince" Billy shows last month were great, well run with good sound. That said, if Pancho's is up for the task then I'm all in favor of it.
