lePercolateur / Paul Abella Trio :: Jazz Hippies & Hipster Gypsies unite Fri 13th

When: Fri., Nov. 13, 9 p.m. 2009

A co-headlining stadium tour took the 1992 world by storm. Seventeen years later, the Metallica-Guns N’Roses tour finally graces Chicago - as two of the Windy City’s most unique jazz bands perform their material. lePercolateur kicks off the evening performing their own style of ‘hipster gypsy-jazz’, including classic GNR songs from “Appetite for Destruction.” Featuring soulful singing intertwined with dexterous violin solos over exciting multi-guitar rhythms and a solid bass foundation, each member of this band brings their unique stylistic imprint to the mix. The Paul Abella Trio will then take the stage, adding Metallica's “Master of Puppets” to their audacious mix of jazz, samba, salsa, blues and rock. Inspired by a long line of jazz musicians, The Paul Abella Trio is equal parts modern jazz band, eclectic jam band and populist bar band. This Friday the 13th, lePercolateur and The Paul Abella Trio hit the Store in Lincoln Park.
