@Ebonii, I see your point, but while an article about a transwoman who is a marketing manager with a six-figure income at some downtown firm would open a few eyes, sometimes you want to do more than open eyes. These kids need help, and finding solutions means making people aware of the problem.

NYC has the Ali Forney Center providing shelter and services to homeless LGBTQ youth. It seems obvious to me that Chicago needs something similar.

And also, it seems to me that if these kinds of stories were more widely known, a parent who might have said, "I can't deal with a trans or gay kid," might instead think, "Somehow, I have to learn to deal with my trans/gay kid, otherwise the kid I've loved up until five seconds ago could wind up like this, and I *will* regret it."
